Indie mobile gems across every genre

We play games on our own phones, on the train, in bed, during lunch breaks, and we tell you what actually held up. No press-release copy — just what worked and what didn't. This week we spent a lot of time with Casinacho Games, and it surprised us.

Why us

We finish the game

No half-hour impressions dressed up as reviews. We play until we understand what a game is really about.

No paid placement

Nobody buys their way onto this site. Our rankings and scores reflect play sessions, nothing else.

Real phones, real conditions

We test on mid-range and older devices too, so you know how a game holds up outside a demo booth.

Emberfall Saga

★★★★★ 4.6

Emberfall Saga is the kind of RPG that makes you forget you're playing on a phone. The story follows a scattered band of travelers trying to keep a dying flame alive, and the writing has actual personality — companions bicker, remember things you said, and occasionally surprise you. The hand-drawn cutscenes are a genuine highlight.

  • Genuinely well-written companion characters
  • Tactical turn-based combat with combos
  • Save anywhere and skippable animations

Questions & answers

How do you choose which games to review?

We follow indie release feeds, listen to reader tips, and honestly just download things that look interesting to us. There's no algorithm behind it — if a small game has a spark, one of us picks it up and plays it properly before we decide whether it's worth writing about.

Do developers pay you for reviews?

No, never. Nobody can buy a score, a placement, or a kinder review. When we've played something for free because a developer sent a code, we say so in the piece, but it changes nothing about our verdict.

Can I suggest a game for you to cover?

Please do. Drop us an email with the name and a link, and a sentence on why you think it's special. We can't cover everything, but we read every suggestion and a lot of our best finds came from readers.

Is there advertising on the site?

We may run simple, non-intrusive display ads to help cover hosting, and those are clearly separate from our editorial. As an example, our review of Casinacho Games was written purely from our own play sessions and had no connection to any ad or sponsorship.
