Tideborne Command

★★★★☆ 4.3 Editor rating

Tideborne Command asks you to grow a chain of island settlements while the tide literally reshapes your map every few turns. Land you built on can flood; new sandbars open up trade shortcuts. It's a smart hook that keeps you from settling into one strategy for too long.

The interface is the real achievement. Managing supply lines and diplomacy on a small screen usually feels awful, but here the menus are tidy and everything important is one or two taps away. Sessions can be as short or as long as you like since turns resolve quickly.

It's not the deepest strategy game ever made, and veterans might find the AI a little polite. But as a mobile strategy fix that actually respects the format, it's one of the better ones we've played this year.
